What is the G-20 Summit?
The Group of Twenty Summit is a yearly meeting of the 19 biggest economies and the European Union (EU), which represent “90% of global GDP, 80% of world trade and two thirds of the world’s population”. Who will attend? The heads of state, finance ministers and central bank presidents of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America, as well as the European Union, with the stated intent of discussing international cooperation in finance. Other attendees will be the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the President of the World Bank, plus various other representatives of those two institutions.
