METAR is the international standard code format for hourly surface weather observations which is analogous to the SA coding currently used in the US. The acronym roughly translates from French as Aviation Routine Weather Report. METAR data utilized on Walt-n-Ingrid.Com is data downloaded from Hamweather for 3 METAR stations in specific. KBDL – Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks, CT KHFD – Brainard Airport in Hartford, CT KBAF – Barnes Airport in Westfield, MA along with data we provide from our own station KCTRIVER1. Mesonet is a regional network of observing stations (usually surface stations) designed to diagnose mesoscale weather features and their associated processes. Our Mesonet data is provided to and retrieved from Weather Underground for personal stations like ours in other nearby towns like Colebrook, Norfolk, North Granby, West Simsbury and others.
