What Is The Biblical Role Of A Preacher?

0

According to the Bible, a preachers job is to preach. Nothing more and nothing less. His entire commission is based on the simple mission of preaching the Gospel to lost souls and educating Christians to improve their spiritual lives. As preachers, this is our supreme, God-given duty. For the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10). A few of the qualifications include being a man of deep devotion to the Word of God. Read what Paul wrote to the young preacher in 2 Timothy 3:14-17. What a deep devotion to the scriptures! Today, nothing less than that is expected of the preacher. Paul also told Timothy to give attention to the public reading of scripture, to exhortation and to teaching (1 Timothy 4:13). This means that we must never neglect the diligent study and understanding of the Gospel. Like the Bereans of Acts 17:11, let us study our Bibles daily, never taking anybodys word as more authoritative than the written Word of God! A preacher must be self-motivated. Unlik
