No. Supporting multiple database engines is not considered a worthwhile use of the developers’ time. Furthermore, simple or lightweight databases like SQLite just can’t cope with MythTV’s needs. It is planned that in the future MythTV will move to use embedded MySQL and running a separate MySQL server will no longer be necessary.
