What was Egyptian Afterlife?
The Egyptian religion strongly believed in immortality and a life after death. However, the afterlife of the commoners and the pharaohs was very different. When ordinary people died, they would pass through the underworld to be judged if whether they were pure and good enough to live an afterlife. If deemed virtuous, then they would live in a place much like Egypt doing the activities they enjoyed most like fishing, hunting, feasting, and sailing. When a pharaoh passed away, he or she went to live with their “father”, Amun- Re in the afterlife.
