Did Diet Pepsi change?
I did a lot of checking and I can’t find any details about Diet Pepsi changing its formula. If it did happen, they did it quietly and haven’t publicly stated what they changed. It would probably be a trade secret in any case. However, at a guess, I’d suspect that rather than a change in the formula what you got was simply a “bad” mix from the dispenser. Either too much syrup or not enough. I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen how those dispensers work, but they hook a big bag of syrup up to a water line along with a big tube of CO2 and it gets mixed in when dispensed. If the mixture is off, then the drink may taste a little differently. I’d suggest buying ONE can or bottle of Diet Pepsi to see if it really does taste better to you. If so, then you might want to try it more often. If not, then it was probably just a fluke rather than a change in formula. I hope this helps!!
