Is Honor killing a big Sin?
Yes of course it is a huge sin. The Qur’an and the Sunnah prohibits “honor killing”. Surat al Isra; Ayah 31; “Do not kill your children..” Arabs used to kill their daughters, as infants or for the shame of puberty. Then the Prophet came and strongly spoke against, as did the Noble Qur’an. The Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) said; “Whoever kills anyone unjustly, it is as though he has killed all of humanity. Whoever saves somebody, it as though he has saved all of humanity.” He also said; “Whoever brings up 3 daughters well, and treats them with kindness there is a place for him in heaven.” The companions of the Prophet then asked; “What if we have only 2 daughters?” The Prophet said; “Even if you have 2.” The companions again asked; “What if we have one?” And the Prophet said; “Even if you only have 1.” The Qur’an tells of the Day of Judgement, when; “The girl who was killed [by her father] Will ask For what crime was she murdered?” And her killer will be among the losers on this day.
