• The best Indian food, by far, in the capital region is at Karavalli. I’ve only been to the Latham location but they have one in Saratoga Springs, too. And one in Nanuet. http://www.karavallilatham.com/index.htm Permalink | Reply AmyH Oct 06, 2009 10:46AM • re: AmyH Sitar is a venerable and reliable restaurant, maybe the oldest Indian restaurant in the area. It’s Pakastani, and they serve Pakastani style Chinese food. Which is really a bit mind blowing if you’ve never had it before. I’m not going to say it’s wonderful, because it isn’t. But it was a new taste experience for me, and that is the basis of my recommendation. Apparently in Pakistan the second most popular cuisine is Chinese. And like in America, they have bastardized the cuisine to suit their own tastes. So Pakistani Chinese includes a dish called Sesame Chic
