What is a Region free DVD player?
A Region Free DVD player is capable of playing DVD discs from every region around the world. DVD discs are encoded into 6 different regions. Traditional DVD players can only play one region at a time. This is very limiting if you are interested in playing DVDs from multiple regions. Why are there different DVD Disc regions? The movie studios want to control the release of movies around the world using DVD region codes. Movies are released on DVD at different times around the world.
