The Pixel Mapping allows the camera to check and adjust the CCD and image processing circuit automatically. It is not necessary to operate this function frequently. Approximately once a year is recommended. Wait a few minutes after the monitor is used or continuous shots are taken to allow for proper performance of the Pixel Mapping function. Since this adjustment had already been done at the time of shipping the camera, you do not need to do the pixelmapping if you just purchased the camera.
