Does the Kidarooz quick-attach hitch coupling work with bikes that have disc brakes?
Typically not, as bikes equipped with disc brakes have the disc brake mechanisms on the left side of the wheel (as the gears are typically on the right side). Because of this, most bikes equipped with disc brakes do not have enough clearance around the chainstay, close to the rear axle to clamp the hitch. Due to the disc, the Kidarooz quick-attach hitch coupling cannot be mounted close enough to the axle. If you try to mount the hitch ahead on the chainstay (towards the front) 2 problems arise: 1) This interferes with the rider’s heel clearance while pedaling and 2) Most importantly the bike won’t be able to turn RIGHT, as the wheel of the bike will touch the front of the trailer or the trailer arm.
