What causes the audio to stutter?

If the audio plays, but cuts out or “hiccups” every few moments, there are a few common problems that can cause this: • Your CPU is not fast enough to play the media properly. You can try disabling the Matrix Mixer (see “Mixer” in the “ffdshow audio decoder configuration” window). A slow computer can cause audio problems even if the picture displays properly. • The player is not using the ffdshow decoder for the type of audio that is in your file. For example, Nero comes with a decoder that doesn’t work properly in our tests, and if its priority is higher than ffdshow’s it will be used instead. • FFDShow might have problems playing badly encoded MPEG-4 audio. This can cause stuttering sound over an optical or digital-coaxial connection, and even no sound at all from the analog sound card outputs. If you encounter this problem with files containing AAC, AAC+, HE-AAC, SBR-AAC, MPEG4, or MP4A audio types, you could try using CoreAAC (available on this page) instead. Add the filter to your
