Why did AU seek U.S. accreditation?
Accreditation was a voluntary process for AU. We wanted an external organization to affirm the high quality of our institution. As an open university seeking to make learning more accessible, it is part of our mission to enable people to receive a university education no matter where they live in the world. There are many different kinds and qualities of distance education available. U.S. accreditation is another way of showing that we are one of the best providers of distance education in the world.
