(A) The problem may be related to the monitor. Try adjusting the focus control on the flyback transformer. The problem could also be related to the CRT (picture tube). There are purity rings on the neck on the monitor that may need be adjusted. Worst case scenario, the CRT may be going bad. It must be noted that if you are not experienced in electronics or monitor repair, you should not attempt to adjust the purity rings or service the monitor. It is best to have a TV service center look at the problem, if possible. Monitors are very dangerous to work with. (Q) I have a Type 55 monitor in a Megatouch and the picture has grown too wide. Adjusting the horizontal width does not change the image at all. After reading through the tech portion of the site, I believe it to be capacitor-related. Could you tell me if this is a known problem and, if so, which cap(s) could cause this? (A) There is a capacitor directly related to the horizontal size.
