What is a profile in Moodle?
Each user has a profile – a list of information about them. Only a small number of items are compulsory. When you first log into a Moodle site (remember there are 20 different Moodle sites on campus and they are not connected), Moodle will attempt to populate your profile from the University’s LDAP directory. If the compulsory fields cannot be completed this way you will be required to complete your profile yourself. Even if your profile is created automatically it is a good idea to check the information it contains.
