Can Dynamic Designer perform a Finite Element Analysis (FEA)?
No, Dynamic Designer is focused on solving motion problems. If you need to do Finite Element Analysis, there are many FEA packages available that Dynamic Designer can work with to provide the accurate loading information. In the near future, Mechanical Dynamics will release a module that attaches to Dynamic Designer allowing the user to recover stress information from moving assemblies, this should however not be confused with Finite Element Analysis.
The loads calculated by Dynamic Designer provide a key input for doing Finite Element Analysis. That said, Dynamic Designer is focused on solving motion problems. If you need to do Finite Element Analysis, there are many FEA packages available and Dynamic Designer can work with those packages to provide the accurate loading information.
