Philately is the art of systematically collecting and studying stamps and postal stationary. Of all the hobbies, none is more popular to people of all ages except philately. The art of stamps collecting has been providing a useful pastime with enriching experience. Rightly it is called King of hobbies. Philately is a product/service offered by postal administrations, which fetches lot of revenue too. The word ’philately’ is a combination of two Greek words ’Philo’ meaning ’love’ and ’Atelos’ meaning ’freedom from duties’ (recipient’s freedom from delivery charges). What is a Postage stamp? A Postage stamp began as a piece of paper which prepaid a form of postal service equivalent to its face value.
