How is the thesis evaluated?
The clarity and strength of the argument is regarded as a crucial element in judging the quality of the thesis. The examiners will expect the thesis to be a clear and well written report addressing a well defined issue or problem which might be of a theoretical or practical nature. The aim of the thesis is to show an ability to identify and analyse a problem. and where appropriate, to suggest a solution; to clearly state the conclusion of the investigation, indicating how this has been arrived at through reference to the initial assumptions and arguments used throughout. The student is also expected to make appropriate reference to relevant literature and frameworks; and to demonstrate that the candidate has a good general knowledge of the particular field of learning within which the subject of the dissertation falls.
