Why earn the Duke Certificate in ESL/EFL Teaching?
• Work with masters and doctoral-level instructors who have experience teaching in the US and abroad • Balance your study with a carefully designed curriculum using theory and hands-on practice • Interact with a diverse group of fellow students from many countries, backgrounds and age groups • Qualify to teach in community colleges, private schools, overseas, and volunteer settings • Keep your day job with our evening and weekend classes To earn the Duke Certificate in ESL/EFL Teaching, participants will need to complete a set of required courses along with two electives. Twelve classes will be needed to complete the program—some will be multiple-session and some single-day. Classes may be taken individually or concurrently. While this program will certainly benefit teachers, it is a noncredit program and will not lead to a master’s degree or to state certification, and may not be substituted for such.
