WHAT IS A KETUBBAH?
A ketubbah is a document that was created by the rabbis for the purpose of protecting women in the context of marriage. The ketubbah is signed by the groom and given to the bride during the wedding ceremony. According to the terms of this contract, the husband commits himself to support, feed, and satisfy his wife sexually for the duration of their marriage and to give her a certain sum of money in the event of a divorce.
