What are capitation fees (Item 22)?
Capitation fees are fixed payments (paid by an insurance company) per patient per unit of time paid in advance to the medical practitioner/facility for the delivery of health care services. The actual payment amount is determined by the range of services provided, the number of patients involved, and the period of time during which services are provided.
