How is C-MAP Organized?
C-MAP is a web-based program that is designed to facilitate curriculum development and program evaluation. The system contains the following major sections: Philosophy • A philosophy is a statement about the values of the institution and beliefs of the faculty. Common elements of a philosophy include nurse, client, health and environment, nursing and nursing education. Program Concepts & Organizing Framework • Concepts are words (with definitions) that express ideas reflecting the values and beliefs about nursing. • An organizing framework is a document/diagram that describes the relationship of concepts within the curriculum. Components of the framework are predominant in courses throughout the curriculum. Program Outcomes & Competencies • Program outcomes are statements describing the qualities and characteristics of students at the end of the program. • Competencies are statements describing the behaviors necessary to achieve program outcomes.
