Whether you want to plant more Brugmansia or you simply want to give a cutting to a friend or neighbor, it’s important to know the best method of propagation so that the new plant will not only survive but also grow into a strong and healthy plant filled with fragrant blooms. Choose a strong, healthy woody branch or stem that has plenty of bumps or nubs. When choosing, consider how the plant will look once the branch or stem is removed. Cut a small notch in the chosen branch, just enough to create a wound in the branch. The notch should be four to five inches above the place you plan to prune the branch once it has sprouted roots. Cut a slit down one side of a peat pot so that it opens up and can be wrapped around the branch or stem you have chosen.
