Many consumers purchase High Definition TV’s because they are wide screen, state-of-the-art technology they are slim in depth, and they can be easily hung on a wall. Only a small percentage of the new owners of High Definition Televisions actually subscribe to High Definition programming. So what does this mean to you? If you want the best picture of Standard Definition broadcasts over analog cable and digital cable, then stick with the tube type TV. Tube TV’s are still the standard for picture clarity that all LCD TV manufacturers strive to achieve. Granted, there are advantages to size and weight of the LCD or plasma wide screen High Definiton TV’s but the advantages in outstanding picture clarity only applies if you are receiving High Definition signals.
