Which is better LCD or Plasma?
As I have said before, I am always stunned by the amazing ignorance shown by some people on this subject. I truly can’t fathom why they bother answering with such a load of ill-informed, misguided rubbish. 1) Plasma TVs do NOT contain liquid. Plasma is a gaseous material. Do you know what the ‘L’ in LCD stands for? That’s right, ‘liquid’. Now think about that for a moment… 2) Plasma TVs do NOT get hot. My plasma runs cooler than my old CRT television did – nobody ever said they got too hot, did they? 3) The picture quality on modern plasma TV will last as long as an LCD (about 60,000 hours of normal use). 4) Plasma TVs cannot be re-gassed. Buy since they last for around 60,000 hours, you wouldn’t need to, even if you could. 5) A 37″ LCD television draws about 200 watts. A 37″ plasma television draws about 250 watts. Hardly big power users either, are they?
