What will mentoring involve?
This will depend on the individual needs of the mentee, but may include sharing knowledge of the UK education system, helping to identify suitable teacher training courses, giving advice on writing course or job applications, developing interview technique, providing opportunities to practise English, helping to secure voluntary placements in schools, arranging lesson observations, developing essay writing skills etc. At the first session with your mentee you will fill in an action plan which sets out the areas you are going to work on together. You will receive a mentoring pack at the training session which includes a list of websites and resources that may be useful, although we hope that you will be able to draw on your own experience as much as possible.
