How are current rents calculated?
The calculation of current rent is one of the key features of the LIS database. Within the database we are able to update the original base rent to reflect the current rent as at and when the rental reviews occur. In estimating the current rent LIS uses the concept of FACE RENT as advanced by the Australian Retailers Association. We are aware that a number of lessees and lessors enter into deeds which provide details of incentives, whether rent free or contributions to fitout. This information is usually not publicly available and therefore we are unable to provide this level of detail.
