How Do You Decorate Pysanky Eggs?
Pysanky eggs are a Ukrainian tradition used to symbolize Easter celebrations. The decoration of the eggs is created by starting with the lightest coloring and layering wax to keep the dye from covering the lighter colors. There is much symbolism in this art that takes some time to master. The finished eggs can be saved for years and are a colorful addition to any Easter table. Empty the eggs. Take a needle and poke a small hole in both the top and the bottom of the egg. Run the needle around the inside of the egg to break the yoke. Take an air tool and insert it into the top or bottom hole and squeeze. The yoke should come out the other end. Mix the dyes. The dye is much like when you’re making classic Easter eggs. Just a few drops in water will be enough to color eggs. Different colors mean different themes (see links). Prepare the wax. Put some beeswax in the top of the kitsky. An electric one will heat itself, while a manual will need to be heated over a candle. Start the decoration
