What is Ancestors Search?
Ancestors Search focuses your search on genealogical databases, many of them refer to Library and Archives Canada (LAC) holdings. There are census, military, immigration and land records which are the most consulted by genealogists. LAC records are organized into fonds, collections (which are subdivided into sous-fonds, series, sub-series, sub-sub-series, files and items) and accessions, which reflect the activities and functions of a person, family or organization.
