Can the VHDM L-Series mate with a standard VHDM backplane module?

No, the VHDM L-Series connector is not compatible with shielded versions of VHDM. VHDM L-Series daughtercard modules are available in five (5) wafer configurations and will need to mate with a shieldless VHDM L-Series backplane module or custom configured VHDM backplane modules can be created in which the shields are not populated in the areas mated to the VHDM L-Series daughtercard module.
