How many Discovery Accelerator Supplements will there be each year?
NSERC will award up to 100 Discovery Accelerator Supplements annually, from which 50 must be in one of the four areas identified as a priority in the 2007 federal Science and Technology Strategy, Mobilizing Science and Technology to Canada’s Advantage: information and communications technologies, natural resources and energy, environmental science and technologies, and life sciences and technologies that are directly related to the health priorities of Canadians, and that fall within NSERC’s mandate. Given the number of applications in competitions, only about three percent of the applicants in any given competition will be awarded a supplement.
