How to become a CEAC arbitrator?

0

Any lawyer or attorney working in the field of international arbitration with experience in China related matters may become a potential CEAC Arbitrator listed on the List of Arbitrators provided that he or she has been admitted for at least eight years to the Bar or is Professor of law in an appropriate/relevant area of law. Since Chinese law excludes lawyers with less experience than eight years of practice become arbitrators, only lawyers or attorneys who are admitted to practice for such a time period are eligible. It is expected that lawyers who apply to enrol on the list of arbitrators are or become a member of the Chinese European Legal Association (“CELA”) which funds the CEAC. The membership fees are moderate but help, in their sum, to make the CEAC project possible. Requests for a listing in the List of Arbitrators may be addressed to the Chinese European Arbitration Centre GmbH. The General Assembly of the CEAC GmbH will decide on additions to the List of Arbitrators until 3
