Sago palms are very common to have in gardens. Sometimes the reason for cultivating these plants is to catch leaves because their extensive fronds grow outward instead of upward. These plants require minimum care, but there is one thing that these plants will not compromise on. They need partial to full sun the entire day. To place them in extremely dim or shady areas invites disease as well as early deterioration. Plant or keep the sago palm in an area with full sun or partial sun. To thrive, this plant needs full sun for at least half a day. Clean leaves and other debris from the plant daily. Water as needed. These plants don’t need a lot of water, so check weekly, and add a little bit of water when the soil is dry. They can tolerate neglect or full care because they are very adaptive palms. Clip away any dead branches or leaves to keep your plant healthy. Fertilize or feed once every 6 months.
