Who invented the baseball bat?
While many would look to large sports coporations, such as Louisville Slugger, when searching for the inventor of the modern baseball bat, one has to look no further than 17 year old John Hillerich. In 1884, while attending a baseball game, John witnessed his favorite player, Pete Browning, break his bat. Serving as a helper in his father’s woodworking shop, John decided to make Pete a new bat and the rest was history.
