Do vegetarians eat Jell-O?

0

No – it’s made from Gelatin. Gelatin is extracted from animal bones, skin and other parts. Vegetarians sometimes use Ko-Jel or other sea vegetable gel to emulate Jello for Gelatin style desserts.

There is an asian type of Jel-O which is extracted from 100% plant so vegetarians can eat that. They can be sold ready to eat or as a package of the dried product where you need to prepare it with hot water and your choice of flavours and colors.

As a vegetarian I don’t eat anything that requires killing the animal. Animals are killed to create gelatin so I don’t eat it. Some vegetarians just don’t like meat so I guess they would eat gelatin.
