To read a plat map, you will first notice that there are letters and numbers at each corner or turn. These letters and numbers are referred to as “Calls”. At the lower corner of a plat map there is a “Legend”, which is a scale that shows the letter and number of each Call and how long that call is to the next. Usually on the plat map is the overall acreage total as well.
