“American Idol” is a reality music television show known worldwide in which hopeful contestants compete against one another in singing competitions for a chance to win a professional recording contract. The show, which debuted in 2002, was created by Simon Fuller and is hosted by Ryan Seacrest. “American Idol” has a panel of judges which consists of Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres (who replaced longtime judge Paula Abdul).
