What s the Grateful Dead connection?
In 1982, Jerry Garcia heard the Pop-O-Pies version of Truckin and immediately became a big fan. After that, he was always very supportive of the Pop-O-Pies. Jerry even went out of his way to pose in a picture with the Pop-O-Pies, for a Rolling Stone Magazine article (September, 1983) comparing San Francisco bands of the 1960s to San Francisco bands of the 1980s.
