Marble is a natural stone that is used in floors, counter tops and even tubs. Since marble is porous like all natural stone, it develops stains easier than other tub materials such a steel, fiberglass or acrylic. In addition, certain cleaning solutions and abrasives can damage the surface of the marble making it unsightly and more apt to stain. Cleaning marble tubs is not difficult once you learn which cleaning solutions are safe to use. Wipe down the marble tub after each use with a squeegee or a towel to prevent the development of soap scum. Clean the marble tub at least once per week using a mild liquid dish soap and warm water. Apply the soap mixture to the tub surface using a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse the tub thoroughly with water after cleaning to remove all traces of the soap residue. Dry the tub with a cloth to remove water. Mix a solution of 1 gallon of water and 1/2 cup of ammonia. Apply the water and ammonia mixture to the entire surface of the marble tub using a sponge to
