What materials can a tester use?
Testers should not consult any dictionaries/grammars while taking the examination. Doing so could significantly alter the outcome of the test. Remember, these examinations are diagnostic and are not added to the student’s record. Consulting outside material to get a better score would place a student at a level higher than would be appropriate for the student’s true knowledge. In order to prepare for the examinations, the department strongly recommends reading the Schaum’s Outline Series grammar book for the language test that is to be taken. For example, for Spanish, students should consult the Schaum’s Outline Series: Spanish Grammar prior to taking the examination. These books can be ordered online or purchased at all major bookstores.
