How Do You Make A Hospital Corner?
If you’re dragging today over a terrible night of sleep, tossing and turning, feet poking out the bottom of the sheets, the solution to a good night’s sleep tonight could be as simple as making your bed the right way–with hospital corners. It’s the best way to keep your toes under the covers, no matter how much tossing and turning goes on. Make up the bed as you normally would, but be sure to leave an equal amount of sheet on both sides of the bed. Leave a good 12 inches or more at the foot of the bed, and then double check that there’s enough at the head of the bed so you can still pull the sheets up over your shoulders when you get in bed later. Stand at one side of the bed, toward the foot. Lift the sheet up so that it’s level with the mattress, perpendicular to the floor. Pinch the edge of the sheet about 12 inches (no need to be exact) from the foot of the bed. Lay the fold on top of the mattress, so it makes a diagonal, folded line.
