Has the TCEQ conducted air quality tests in Flower Mound?
Yes. On January 13 2010, the TCEQ conducted an odor survey, a Toxic Vapor Analyzer test, and Infrared (IR) imagery surveillance at two locations adjacent to operational gas wells in Flower Mound. No odors, nor detectable concentrations of VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), were observed. The IR imagery showed emissions consistent with normal operations of the compressor engines and heater units. The tests indirectly tested for benzene as part of the VOC sample.
