What is a Den leader?
This person is a parent volunteer (probably a parent of one of the boys in the den) who wants to help boys get the most out of Cub Scouts. It is very rewarding and yes, there is some planning involved for each meeting, but you will soon find that being a leader for your group of boys will gain you lasting friendships (boys AND parents). You DO NOT HAVE to have been a Boy Scout or Girl Scout to know what to do. You must complete training—including Youth Protection Training—and you will learn EVERYTHING in just a few hours. You can also visit http://www.geocities.com/~pack215/ It is the Virtual Cub Scout Leader’s handbook and it has lots of information on how to be a Den Leader. The pack has videos, Program Helps books and all kinds of other resources.
