What is Externship?
MAS117 (Medical Assisting Externship) is a required class that allows the student to practice working in a medical facility. Students are expected to perform the skills they have been taught during their Medical Assisting classes here at Lanier Technical College in both Administrative and Clinical areas. The class requires that the student work unpaid in a physician’s office a minimum of 240 hours over a 10 week period.
