What is a drug monograph?
A drug monograph is a document released by drug companies detailing the design, chemistry and structure of a drug product. It includes what conditions the drug may be used for treatment. The document also includes any warnings, precautions, side effects, and dosage instructions. The monograph also includes how the product is sold and packaged. The monograph is not the same as the patient information document that may be supplied to you by your pharmacy if you are on a prescription for the drug. The patient information document provides advice specific to the patient while on a medication or drug.
