What is Coliform/Colilert?

0

Coliform/Colilert is a common bacteria that the water is tested for. If it is present in the water sample it could indicate that more harmful bacteria maybe present as well. It will need to be treated. We are regulated by the Illinois Department of Public Health that requires any coliform/colilert in our water be less than one. If we were regulated by another agency like municipalities, we would be allowed to have a higher count of bacteria present in our water.
