What is Good Deeds?
Money generated from the sale of ads and donations from inspired readers goes to build a Foundation that rewards children for their kindness to neighbors, strangers and the community. Rewards would include college scholarships and scholarships to arts and cultural programs, culinary schools and other advanced educational opportunities that are excluded from the usual sources.. The Foundation also rewards those who inspire children, with so few resources – often out of their own pockets – such as caregivers, teachers, clergy and youth center personnel. All the money raised is used locally, although we hope to inspire similar publications around the country, and maybe, around the world. Many people who have sent stories for our first edition have talked to us about starting something in their community. Maybe there’ll be a publication like ours or just a spirit of goodwill among neighbors. Maybe, it will take off and people all over, if nothing else, will be nicer to one another. It soun
