Personal prophecy is a prophetic word given by a Christian to another person. It is a message from the Lord to that individual pertaining to something in that person’s life. The Apostle Paul tells us that prophecy in the New Testament is given to build up the individual and the Church. 3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. 4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. (1 Corinthians 14:3-4, NKJV). Personal prophecy can bring tremendous encouragement to the believer. But it can also be a tool in God’s hand to bring the lost to Christ. 24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.
