What is involved for testing a skylight?

0

Skylights have many of the same requirements as windows. The industry standard for skylights is AAMA/WDMA 1600/I.S. 7-2000. This provides minimum test sizes, test pressures and allowables for skylights. The same ASTM test methods used for windows (Question 2) are used for skylights. Air and water tests on skylights need to be performed at the minimum recommended slope for installation. Skylight testing requirements from code agencies and evaluation bodies vary greatly. Please contact us to answer any questions about a specific evaluation body’s skylight requirements.
