What does Katahdin mean?
An Abenaki (Native American) word meaning “MAIN” or “GREATEST MOUNTAIN”. In the deep woods of Northern Maine there exists a wilderness refuge known as Baxter State Park. The focus of these 202,064 acres is Mount Katahdin, standing firm at 13 feet shy of 1 mile high — making it the highest point in the state. And just as our namesake has come to represent the domination of the greatest mountain in the rugged North Maine woods, we have committed ourselves to providing products that will prove to stand up to extreme off-road conditions.
